Adding AI to surgical services is an exciting way to change how surgery is done, which could lead to better patient outcomes and health for the whole population. AI has the potential to improve patient health and population health by making improvements to preoperative planning, intraoperative navigation, postoperative monitoring, and predictive analytics. To reach these goals, however, healthcare organizations must deal with many big problems, such as how to share data, keep it safe, and pay for it.Two areas of surgery where AI is already showing promise are preoperative planning and navigation during surgery. By analyzing imaging data, AI algorithms can give surgeons detailed information about a patient's anatomy, which can lower the risk of complications and improve patient outcomes. For example, AI-assisted surgical tools can improve the accuracy and speed of preoperative planning and intraoperative navigation. This means that surgeries will be more accurate, and patients will get better faster.Joseph Kascmar
