Island Health and its related companies already have significant success in implementing actions aimed at enhancing and improving healthcare services in the region.
FREMONT, CA: Island Health and its partners have made significant progress in implementing actions designed to improve and stabilize healthcare services in North Vancouver since the Province announced a thirty million investment in the region's healthcare services, and residents are quickly reaping the benefits of Island Health's advancements, particularly in terms of attracting and recruiting health-care professionals from across the province, country, and beyond. Their progress is impressive, and it brings health care closer to the island's residents.
Island Health has hired new employees to support the health system on the north island, and it expects to pay more than 280,000 in monthly bonus payments to more than 200 current employees in the first quarter of the plan, with eligible employees already receiving enhanced travel compensation and benefits. Now that the purchase of a new CT scanner is well underway, residents will benefit from significantly reduced travel times to access the health services they require.
Island Health is actively recruiting and targeting a diverse range of potential new hires on North Vancouver Island, as well as professionals from throughout Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, and around the world. Since the launch, over 1,000 prospective candidates have been contacted, including many nurses who have expressed an interest in one or more positions at Island Health.
