The desire to live forever has been recorded for a long time, appearing in everything from modern literature and films to contemporary Greek mythology. Living longer is possible thanks to developments in science, medicine, and public health. However, unlike the myths, healthy practices rather than a miracle potion are the secret to a long life.


According to some research, lifestyle and environmental factors may determine 75 percent of an individual's variation in longevity, with genetics accounting for the other 25 percent. Those who have lived the longest—into their nineties and hundreds—have been found to have a reduced risk of getting age-related chronic diseases, such as diabetes, cancer, and heart disease, because they have similar healthy practices, such as not smoking and keeping a healthy weight.


Though aging is inevitable, you can delay the aging process and possibly your life by making healthy lifestyle choices. These are some research-proven strategies for living a longer, healthier life:


Move a Lot:


The health benefits of exercise are obvious. However, consistent exercise, even in tiny doses, can keep you strong and fit and lengthen your life. Exercise has increased bone and muscle strength, extended life expectancy, and lowered your risk of age-related diseases like diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and several malignancies. In the meantime, research indicates that a higher risk of dying young is associated with sedentary behavior and inactivity.
