Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas expands the use of Dynamic Digital Radiography (DDR) in multiple US healthcare institutions, offering dynamic views of anatomical structures in motion.
FREMONT, CA: "To bring this type of diagnostic care to Appleton is truly remarkable. DDR is the type of technology you would expect to find in only large metropolitan areas in our region. Thanks to our partnership with Konica Minolta, we are the first to be able to provide our region with the same level of X-ray care patients receive at such renowned hospitals as Mount Sinai in New York or Emory Healthcare in Atlanta," says Greg Miner, Appleton Area Health Chief Executive Officer.
Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas is expanding the use of Dynamic Digital Radiography (DDR) in multiple healthcare institutions throughout the US. DDR offers a dynamic view of anatomical structures in motion. It is valuable for various applications in hospitals, clinics, and private practices, including ER/inpatient triage, outpatient imaging, musculoskeletal (MSK) imaging, and pre-surgical evaluations.
Unlike fluoroscopy, DDR involves acquiring a series of individual digital X-ray images at high speed and low doses, allowing clinicians to visualize anatomy in motion without needing continuous exposure. DDR is versatile and finds application in specialties such as pulmonary, musculoskeletal, lung transplantation, swallowing studies, and more, catering to both contrast and non-contrast studies.
Appleton Area Health, a critical access hospital serving a senior community, is the first community hospital in Minnesota to offer advanced X-ray imaging with DDR. They acquired the KDR Flex Overhead X-ray system to better evaluate patients with various injuries and diseases. CT or MRI options are not easily available and require costly patient transport.
The KDR Flex Overhead X-ray System, among the five Konica Minolta DDR-compatible systems, is a smart radiography system with workflow innovations and DDR capabilities.
