New wearable technology in biosensors, RFID, sweat and saliva analyzers are improving livestock health through better animal health management.

FREMONT, CA: Researchers are adopting animal health wearables to measure trends in animal health. Wearables reduce downtime and ensure uninterrupted productivity. In a large scale, farmers benefit from wearables as they receive notifications of ill health. Farmers can rely on biosensors that identify when cattle are sick so farmers do not spend extensively on expensive treatments and can mitigate the situation immediately.

Some products like medication patches, tracking collars, and electronic saddle optimization allow animal owners to do more in less time. The global growth of the animal wearable sector will rise to U.S.D 2.6 billion.

Biosensors: Biosensors measure the number of antibiotics in the cattle's blood. Biosensors use a recognition element and a transducer. The recognition element identifies affinity pairing, such as enzyme/substrate and antibody/antigen receptors. The transducer recognizes such pairings and produces electrical signals that are analyzed later.
