Data governance frameworks are essential for APAC's healthcare sector to improve patient care, medical research, and decision-making processes.

FREMONT, CA: By the conclusion of 2026, a majority of 55 per cent of healthcare institutions in the Asia-Pacific region are projected to establish data governance frameworks that give priority to the ethical and transparent utilisation of artificial intelligence (AI) for providing predictive, preventive, and personalised medical care.

The Asia Pacific region will experience an acceleration of digital revolutions in healthcare delivery systems, including new technology developments in the fields of patient-serving intelligent medical robots and foresightful digital twins. The increasing expenses associated with inflammation may hinder further investments in healthcare, prompting healthcare providers to reevaluate and allocate their budgets more carefully.

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the shortcomings of public health systems in delivering sufficient healthcare to specific segments of the population. As a result, there will be a growing trend towards achieving greater fairness in healthcare and expanding its availability to a larger number of people in the Asia-Pacific region.

To better meet the demands for care, healthcare organisations will place greater emphasis on implementing "care anywhere" programs, utilising clinical data, exploring smoother connectivity, and automating care processes. These efforts will be accompanied by a strong focus on trust, compliance, and the ability to explain decision-making processes. The healthcare delivery system in the Asia-Pacific region is shifting towards a patient-centric approach, which is being largely enabled by advancements in digital technology, the growth of the health tech industry, and a greater emphasis on utilising data. This shift is leading to a redefinition of care, with a focus on providing care anywhere, predictive care, and personalised care.

In the Asia Pacific region, technological advancements in the areas of patient-serving intelligent medical robots and forward-thinking digital twins will accelerate the digital transformation in healthcare delivery systems.

Top 10 healthcare industry predictions

1: Integrated trust: In Asia Pacific, by the end of 2024, approximately 20 per cent of expenses on care integration solutions will be focused on establishing a trust to safeguard data, workflows, and transactions, as well as to ensure ethical and privacy compliance.

2: Healthcare work hybridization: By the year 2025, about 30 per cent of healthcare institutions in the Asia Pacific are expected to adopt hybrid work models, incorporating virtualized, automated, and intelligent workplaces. This shift will lead to higher levels of patient and workforce satisfaction.
