Many of the pacemakers were found to have profound cases of vulnerabilities, making them easier to control by external intruders. Cases have been reported highlighting defibrillators and pacemakers, which were controlled externally and led to serious health emergencies for the users.


Fremont, CA: post-pandemic period has witnessed the exponential rise of cyber threats and attacks as the frequency of online frauds and crimes is on the rise. Industries are exposed to regular cases of data breaches, ransom wares, and misleading sites, including the health care sectors. The large-scale development of the internet of Things and machine learning have caused the advancement of machines and robotics assistance, which make them prior targets to hackers and online threats.


Medical devices are hence perceived as the most fragile target to set, making it essential to have the operators and staff at the office to be educated on the working of the machines over time.

Drug infusion pumps


Such devices infuse patients with drugs, insulin, antibiotics, chemotherapy, and pain relievers. Several cases of vulnerabilities have been reported on the use of wireless-connected drug infusers as the hackers can access and operate the device remotely by getting into the mainframe of the machines.
