Starting with diabetes, he developed a practical solution that combined his expertise with the Internet’s potential to help adjust insulin in patients who have to keep up with time zone changes when travelling long distances. This resulted in the DIAB Travel System, an internet-based software that enables HCPs to input detailed information about a patient’s insulin therapy and travel plans to generate tailored recommendations for dosage adjustments based on time differences.

Wanting to share this success with colleagues at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich led him to create SCIARC. Today, Prof. Schnell’s company is driving advancements in medical education and patient care, demonstrating the profound impact that sharing information can have on advancing healthcare practices and outcomes.
