What if you walked into a clinic where every corner was powered by a different medical specialty? From advanced imaging to specialized diagnostics and treatment, experts cover a full spectrum of care.

That place is MedRay Imaging.

Owned by 18 subspecialized radiologists, MedRay brings the sharpest eye to every image it interprets. For more than 40 years, it has been a pillar of medical imaging, combining advanced technology with a steadfast commitment to patient care.

“Whether it’s a routine X-ray, a diagnostic or screening mammogram, bone densitometry, or an advanced ultrasound, we bring decades of experience and the collective insight of our radiologists,” says Arash Boloori, CEO. “With a background in medical imaging engineering, we are a strong believer in investing in the best technology to deliver superior results. Our goal is to ensure every patient receives the most accurate and comprehensive care. We invest in the latest technology, continuous training, and a patient-first approach so that every individual feels confident they are getting the highest standard of imaging and expertise available.”

As a full-service medical imaging centre, MedRay offers screening programs at its Westwood location and diagnostic imaging at Gordon Avenue, enabling patients to continue their care if further testing is required. Previously, all services were handled solely at Gordon location, alternating between screening and diagnostic patients on the same machines.

By expanding to Westwood, the clinic can focus exclusively on screening there, increasing patient volume and improving workflow. The Gordon Avenue clinic is now fully dedicated to diagnostic imaging, and other clinics in the same Gordon Professional building—such as Pacific Diagnostic MRI, which provides private pay MRI services, LifeLabs, and numerous physician offices—offer patients access to multiple medical services under one roof. MedRay Imaging will be opening another clinic at 1340 Johnston Road in White Rock, offering X-ray and ultrasound services in the coming months.

Every service at MedRay contributes to what makes the company exceptional, with each department designed to meet patient needs effectively. Its X-ray department is one of the largest private facilities in British Columbia, with three rooms serving 200–250 patients daily. Complementing this, the company employs the latest bone densitometry technology, ideal for seniors and those needing osteoporosis evaluations.

  • We aim to provide care with the same compassion and attention we would offer to our own family members and that value is reflected in every patient interaction

Recent equipment upgrades across departments have further increased capacity to handle higher patient volumes and accommodate diverse needs, including wheelchair accessibility. The centre also provides specialty imaging such as scoliosis and leg length studies, which are usually offered only in hospitals.

Building on these strengths, the ultrasound department includes 18 dedicated rooms and supports a wide range of diagnostic services, including breast, obstetric, gynecological, abdominal and vascular imaging. In additional to our general diagnostic medical imaging, we also perform sub-specialty exams such liver elastography, musculoskeletal shoulder, and nuchal translucency imaging exams. To ensure continuity in women’s healthcare, MedRay offers a comprehensive breast imaging program which integrates diagnostic mammography with breast ultrasound, providing thorough and timely assessments. The MedRay Breast Screening Program, which is a service provider for the BC Cancer Breast Screening Program, alone serves over 18,000 patients annually, contributing to MedRay’s total yearly patient volume of more than 200,000.

Supporting these specialized services is a centralized booking team, with every clerical member MOA certified, that coordinates general radiology and breast imaging appointments, ensuring scheduling is both timely and efficient. The process is straightforward, enhanced by automated text reminders, and supported by over 160 certified technologists trained and licensed across multiple modalities.

Cross-training allows for greater flexibility and faster support. For example, bone density exams are typically handled by one technologist, but if a patient needs extra assistance, the nearby X-ray team can step in immediately. The same collaboration works in reverse, with technologists from mammography or BD assisting the X-ray department when needed. This team-based, adaptable approach ensures patients receive safe, efficient care in a single visit, helping them avoid delays, reduce anxiety, and get answers faster.

As Cassandra Miller, General Radiology supervisor, puts it, “We aim to provide care with the same compassion and attention we would offer to our own family members, and that value is reflected in every patient interaction.”

Today, MedRay Imaging redefines the adage “jack of all trades” as “master of many,” where subspecialized expertise and unified care converge under one roof. With thoughtfully renovated facilities, the clinic offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere that patients often compare to a spa rather than a typical medical setting.
